The venerable Cadac J-Type has a new module!

This one-module-width accessory module provides functions necessary to the modern-day production sound engineer. Equipped with a 120V/240V AC mains outlet, it is now much easier to charge one's mobile telephone at the desk during the show, plug one's laptop in for gaming, or blow-dry one's hair at the desk. Engineers have also requested a cigarette lighter of the standard automobile type, run off the +18V power supply.

Please note that we do not currently provide an ashtray module for the J-Type, but König & Meyer makes some lovely clip-on ashtrays for racks and microphone stands.

And every sound engineer will love the new "E-STOP" and "PANIC" buttons. Large, easy-to-read, and hard-to-miss, these buttons can remotely control any RS-232 or switch-closure device independent of the CCM. Trigger a fire alarm, stop stage automation, send 120V through the intercom system, or fire off an ejector seat, all from the comfort of the Cadac J-Type live production console.

Next on the J-Type Convenience Module is the SUCK filter. A positive-action on/off switch with bright LED indicator will let you know when you or your show is sucking. Suck amplitude can be adjusted with the Gain knob, while Depth provides more sensitive adjustment. A twelve-segment LED display displays your progress.

Last but not least, the Convenience Module is equipped with HVAC controls. Although the engineer may choose not to actually interface these controls with the HVAC system in the theatre, it may provide a placebo effect to audience patrons who approach the sound engineer complaining that it is too cold, too hot, too humid, too dry, or that cold air is blowing down their back.

The comfort controls can also be wired to control the engineer's immediate space so that the sound engineer is never uncomfortable.
